On Endor, we are building a persistent game world that is not designed for seasonal play. Characters, their progression, the economy, and relationships between players are created and evolve over the course of years, not weeks or months. This long-term nature is one of the core values of our server. We continuously develop the game around this world, which inevitably brings certain compromises that we would like to explain – and that players need to be prepared for.

Persistent world

Endor Revived is not a finished product. It is a living project that evolves based on long-term statistics, reacts to player behavior, addresses historical technical debt, and balances extremes that only become apparent after months or years of gameplay. Unlike short-term game models where progress is regularly reset, seasons change, and players always start “from scratch”, Endor is designed as a long-running world without resets. Decisions made by players become part of this world and carry weight. This inevitably means that server changes can sometimes come into conflict with its long-term nature.

Goals of the changes

The changes we introduce are never made in isolation. Our goal is to monitor the overall server balance, class diversity, the economy, PvE and PvP environments, and long-term sustainability. An individual player usually sees a change only through the lens of their own character. We, however, must work with the entire server ecosystem, whose behavior cannot be reduced to a single perspective or situation.

Our goal is not to keep every player permanently at peak efficiency, but to ensure a healthy long-term game environment in which every class has its strengths and weaknesses. We also aim to ensure that no change prevents anyone from playing the game meaningfully, while keeping the whole system balanced and sustainable in the long run. We believe this approach is essential for the world to function.

Future plans

We have a long list of ideas and changes we would like to bring into the game. Some are only on paper, some have already been announced publicly, and others are just around the corner. We often react to current events on the server, but we never lose sight of future plans. Changes are deployed with future steps in mind. In our ecosystem, there are no clear checkpoints where we can say, “now is the right time for a change”. There is never a convenient time for unpleasant changes – and the pleasant ones are needed by the game as soon as possible.

Impact on players

We understand that especially long-term and active players feel every change. These are often players who have invested hundreds of hours into optimizing their characters and adapting their playstyle to the state of the server. It is therefore natural that any nerf causes disappointment. In such moments, it is important to remember that a short-term drop in efficiency is not a final state – balance evolves over time, and a character’s power can return through other means. The goal is not to punish players, but to open up more options and bring fairness and balance into the game.

We are not all-knowing

We are often asked whether we truly know the game, whether we are aware of every aspect of the changes and whether we have made the best possible decisions. Our team includes both active and less active players, as well as newcomers and people who have been part of the server since day one. Each group brings its own strengths: more experienced members can test changes firsthand and evaluate or incorporate feedback directly from gameplay. Those who are less active or newer to the game offer an “external” perspective that allows them to view the game with some distance. Even so, we frequently turn to the community, remain open to feedback, and process all comments. We cannot react immediately to everything, but important or insightful feedback is never ignored.

Refunds and compensation for changes

Because the game changes under players’ hands, we occasionally receive requests for various forms of compensation or corrections of past player decisions, which in a long-running world can undermine years of gameplay. We strive to find solutions that address the majority impact of changes. Our development resources are limited and must be used primarily where they have the greatest positive impact on the server as a whole.

We understand that not every change is pleasant and that some may hurt in the short term. Still, we believe that:

  • long-term server stability is more important than short-term comfort,
  • a persistent world requires a different approach than seasonal games,
  • consistent rules are fairer than individual exceptions.
