  • Tamed pets have gained new behavior related to the herding skill. If a player’s herding skill is insufficient to control them, they no longer get released immediately; instead, they become disobedient, lose control, cannot be commanded, and will just wander around.
  • A player is also unable to unshrink (unreduce) a pet they cannot control due to insufficient Herding.
  • Unpacking a ship from a deed now has a 10-second channel time, during which the player must not move, must not take damage, and cannot perform other actions (such as casting spells).
  • Boarding a ship has also been adjusted: the maximum distance from the ship is 8 tiles, and boarding from a distance now has an 8-second channel time under the same conditions. Walking across the plank has no channel time, but the plank cannot be closed for 5 seconds after being opened.

  • auto-claim gods blessing scroll up to 1 week in new month if player was eligible for pickup and forgot to claim the scroll

AI pet and summon adjustments with an intention of pvp balancing (pet in the text refers to both):

  • A pet can now teleport only once every 24 seconds.
  • If a pet is farther than 50 tiles from its master, it cannot pursue or attack players and will remain in place.
  • After the master’s death, the pet moves to the master’s corpse and guards it, defending itself. After the player is resurrected, the pet will rejoin its master if the player is not too far away. If the pet was guarding another player, that guard is cancelled. If the pet is in combat at the moment of the master’s death, it will attempt to finish the fight before retreating to the corpse.
  • In PvM combat, no pet can achieve runspeed as high as mounted player. Currently affecting Mantis, but prepared as general rule for everything in the future.
  • Acid spit (pet’s ranged attack) is not used by Mantis in PvM.
  • Ferocity and Stonefur spells fades away in pvp. The combination of these buffs, high pet movement speed and/or high dex created undesirable situations. The other two buffs (Natural Aura and Holy Fur) remain usable.
  • Ferocity and Stonefur now announce their “fades away” to all players around.

A monster category from “Slayers” will be now used in calculating NPC resists:

  • Category Undead have now lower Silver resistance
  • Category Elemental is now immune to Gas/Poison/Acid
  • Category Demon have now lower Banish resistance

Forgotten Realms:

  • increased drops in all forgotten realms
  • level of NPCs is increased by 2 levels
  • slightly decreased drop of higher level forgotten realms scrolls

Race changes:

The following changes aim to reduce the unwanted impact of very high Dexterity. The goal is to increase the attractiveness of all races, so that Elf is not a first choice for all classes, and to prevent itemization from revolving mainly around Dexterity.

  • Dexterity above 150 provides a lower chance to evade attacks (this also applies to monsters, so it cannot be clearly labeled as a buff or a nerf). The result should be a relative strengthening of other stats rather than parties suddenly dying as a group (the difference is 12% at 250 dex).
  • Dexterity above 150 has a reduced effect on attack speed; this applies to players only (the difference is 8% at 250 dex).
  • Stamina and mana regeneration now receive a small bonus from maximum stamina and maximum mana. For example, str or con, which increase stamina, also increase stamina regeneration.
  • hp, stamina, and mana regeneration are now displayed on items and in the player info as “x / 5s”. The values themselves have not changed; only the way of showing them.
  • Strength now has a greater effect on max stamina, while dex has a reduced effect on maximum stamina.
  • Strength now has a greater impact against defense (blocking attacks) during a melee attack.
  • Stats for some classes and races have been adjusted. The most significant changes are a reduction of constitution for abhorsen and an increase of intelligence/wisdom for orcs. And minor changes (up to ±5 points at level 35): +str half-elf, -wis half-elf / drow, +int drow, -dex elf / half-elf / drow, +dex berserker.

We are currently trying to set these values conservatively. We want to test the waters gradually, and adjust the changes if necessary. We believe that smaller adjustments across multiple systems will have a better overall impact on the game than drastic solutions, such as hard-capping attack speed or miss chance, which could lead to the opposite problem, where everyone would stack STR/INT, not valuating dex anymore.We welcome any factual feedback.

The Void-Press

A new system of working with different items of Endor. Finally a way to use your old forgotten items. Let’s bring them out from your dusty shelves!

Casting:

The .cast, .cast_lt, and .cast_ts commands have been updated to accept a metamagic parameter and to automatically search for scrolls in the backpack when casting. The valid forms are now:

  • .cast[_lt|_ts] Spell Name/ID = works the same as before
  • .cast[_lt|_ts] [metamagic] Spell Name/ID = attempts to find a scroll in the backpack; if none is found, the spell is not cast
  • .cast[_lt|_ts] [metamagic]+ Spell Name/ID = attempts to find a scroll in the backpack; if none is found, the spell is cast normally “from memory”

[metamagic] can have the following values:

  • empowered
  • extended
  • maximized
  • quickened
  • silent
  • normal (for scrolls made from normal hide)

In the future, we will consider whether the .usescroll[_lt|_ts] commands are still needed
